Something strange is up with my son.
He surprised me at 8 pm last night needing to pick something up. He knows he needs to call because he has stopped by shortly after ex moved out, and I was walking around in a towel. It was embarassing for both of us, not to mention if he stopped by when someone was over.
It just seems lately he is popping in a lot.
He commented this AM that he was talked into by his friends and track coaches into joining the football team. He's never played, but he's a natural athlete, and whatever he puts his heart into, he succeeds.
He started gymnastics when he was 2, competed nationally until he was 11, pole vaulted this past year, set freshman records, he has talent.
One thing he brought up to me is that my ex was against him going out for football. My son had coaches calling ex, and it took a few of them to let him join the team. My ex made his call his cousin, who was on a great football time in college, participated in bowl games, gave it up to pursue a medical degree.
I'm upset that I'm hearing this after the fact,
I am trying to be neutral about everything, but my ex is starting so many problems, and I'm hoping I'm seeing a change or the relationship.

Did he decide to live with his dad by choice? If so, and dad is not supporting his decisions, he may want to move back in with the parent who will support his decisions.
As he is 15, he is not above manipulating the situation to get what he wants...don't know if that is what he is doing, but something to consider.
My son, who is now 19, lives with me because I let him live his own life, but hold him accountable. I support him emotionally and he never got that from his dad. Dad has more money, but he stays with me because he realizes that money won't buy you love and support.
