Now to keep it off!
i plan once I havemy own place that I will be able togo for walks or to the park or all of teh thousands of other things that I want to do with my dauhter but can't becuase HE says we have to stay home and HE doesn't want us to use the only car we have.
seems hypocritical?
I started losing weight from the stress of my divorce, and once it started coming off, I'm working on keeping it off.
As for my boyfriend's wife, she complains daily about her and their son's weight, yet does nothing about it.
He's also upset because she bounces him from sport to sport, thinking he'll lose weight, but a once a week thing, with nothing in between is going to cut it.
He knew the stress I was under taking care of my critically injured husband, and helped any way he could, even after 21 yrs of not talking to each other. He saw how my husband treated me, and saw that same attitude in his wife, and after 2 yrs of talking, once we both were in divorce proceedings, we got together.
I said to him the 1st time he saw me in 21 yrs, yes, I'm overweight, but told me I had more things to worry about than being overweight, he thought I was still beautiful.
His wife called off the divorce when she realized she had to share custody, and can't bear a night away from him (they sleep in the same bed), she told him she was over him years ago, and wishes him happiness.
So, my ex shlumps around, complaining constantly about his health and financial problems, doing nothing to improve his health, and my boyfriend's wife is similar.
It's not hypocritical, I've never met his wife, and it's just been recently that my boyfriend started opening up about how he's been treated for years. I've seen pictures of her and their son, and see why he's upset. I don't make comments, even when he asks, because it's not my place.
I, and my boyfriend, keep working on eating right and being fit, and after the years of both of us being put down by our spouses, whether this works out, we will be in good shape.
I am glad he is opening up about what he is and that you two are working on this issue together. Communication appears to be good between you two. I hope it continues that way.
As for his ex and his son, I am sure because of how his ex hovers over his son, is a very good reason why he is in the shape he is, weight wise and other things as well. I certainly hope, he can somehow become a more powerful source for his son and his son can choose what sport he wants and see his own way as he grows up.
Thanks for everything, my boyfriend and I watch what we eat, excercise, etc., my kids do, always have, done the same. Our ex and current spouses are another story.
My boyfriend is upset now that his wife is subscribing to some diet plan, so it's for her - what about their son?
She hasn't cooked for him in 5 yrs, so he rarely sees what his son is fed.
I love cooking well, but love my brat with all the fixings - the best thing yet is rare beef with onions! I'm done when I see that!!
I initially lost 15 lbs during the first month of my break-up. I wasn't eating, I was living on the sofa of a friends house and running back and forth between work, looking for a new place and packing my belongings.
After I found a new apartment, I started taking boxing classes and eating a bit more and lost an additional 10 lbs. It made me feel so confident that the remaining 10 were done on my own that I am making myself keep up the work in hopes of eventually losing another 20.
Last night, talked my boyfriend into going for a fish fry. He was joking me that he's never seen me eat so much at one time, but I didn't tell him I didn't each lunch!
I had to laugh at him because he decided my dinner was better than his, and had to fight him from eating my food.
We then went to a bar we hadn't been to for months, and the bartender pulled me aside wondering why we hadn't been there, and what I was doing that I looked so well.
During my divorce, my now boyfriend and I would spend a lot of time there because I hated being home. Once my ex finally moved out, we mainly spend our time at my house, just chilling.
What has been great is that, now, going out to eat, or for a drink, is a real treat. We are doing it to just enjoy each other's company, rather than complain about our spouses.
And, one thing we agree upon is we will work together to keep each other healthy.
While he loved me 70 lbs ago, he also realized that my confidence level is up. Whether it's from the weight loss, or getting rid of my ex, I know I feel better.
I guess it has to start some where. She needs to learn how to eat right, diet, exercise and all that so to be able to be an influence on the child.
I had initially lost some via walking / running over the past summer, but the stress of the past six months caused me to lose more than running ever did. I'm doing my best to keep it off as well, mainly by starting back on my walking / running routine now that spring is starting to creep in. It helps that I have people who are working with me as accountability partners. It's nice to have that challenge.
Plus, I'm looking forward to the day when my STBX looks at what I've worked to become, and looks at the schlub she took up with, (he really is a schlub, IMHO. I've seen pictures.), and realizes I've moved onward and upward. Being a better man, a better father, and a better husband to someone worthy of me will be the best revenge I can think of. I'm not there yet, but I will be.
My ex picks our son up from school each morning, and I make it a point to let him know what he's missing!
My ex only moved a block away, so I and my boyfriend constantly see him, and he seems like a walking corpse (it does bother both of us).
My son is warming up to my boyfriend. My boyfriend is someone I never thought existed. My son see's that.
I hope you find the 'one'!
Take care!
Time and date, next train from Milwaukee and I'll be there.
My ex always told me toward the end of our marriage he was dieting, but who has $70 lunches for 2, or $200 dinners? The evening of our divorce, he took our son out (he's 15), not sure if there were others, but he charged over $200, $70 of it on drinks. He was still living with me, and I found the receipt. My name was still attached to the account, so I ended up paying 1/2 of it.
My boyfriend and I share entrees, eat during happy hour (1/2 off appetizers), or just make our own meals.
I buy a lot of convenience food for my teenage son in sports, but he had learned he likes healthy meals most of the time.
I can't eat like I once did. There were days after my divorce that I would totally forget to eat, focusing on my son and dogs, and it wreaked havoc on my body. Once I remembered to eat, I couldn't keep anything down, it was horrible. The stress on my body ran from my temple to the middle of my back. It's only been the past few weeks the pain is weakening. I'm not an Ibuprophen junkie anymore.
I also refuse to gain back the weight! I was so unhappy in my marriage, I ate to forget the pain.
I hope things work out for you, take care.
