My sons birthday party is on Apr 11 and my ex asked if I am willing to help setup. I have pretty limited contact because I have no desire to be near her or talk to her.
If anyone has followed my story here is a recap. She met someone and two weeks later left me and it's been five months since we split and her new bf is moving in with her and my kids at the end of April.
I asked who was helping and she said that if I was not willing to that she would ask her bf, but if I was helping no one else would be there.
My question is, do I help? I don't really want to, but I kind of do for the sake of my son. The problem is I don't want to be around her for that long, she makes my angry just being in her presence. Of course I don't show it.
I kind of feel like since I've been so excluded from being a family with her and she has a new knight in shining armor that she is so adamant on making the perfect family with that he should just help her.
Would you?
Also why would she ask me for help? She clearly doesn't want me in her life and really I don't feel like she legitimately needs my help. It's not like she asked if I wanted to help to be part of the party, she asked if I was willing to help as though she needs my help.
What do you guys think?

As far as why she would ask for your help; it might be an attempt to build a civil relationship for the kids, or in my case I think it was some perverted form of subjugation behavior on her part, as in rubbing what she was doing in my face. I havent seen or talked to her in almost 6 months.
I would be overjoyed and I feel she is only thinking of your son and what he would like for his birthday. If you want to be included in future plans around your son, I would suck it up and do this for your son, with a smile on your face. Remember, this party is for your son.
It is entirely up to you what kind of a relationship you have with your son.
I will help her with it.
