Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I cant help what I am feeling now, but if you put that little boy next to your husband and had to choose one, it sure would NOT be your husband.
Think about it------He wants to be first. He has No empathy for that little boy or for you--------just like the people who treated the little boy so horribly.
I would be relieved he was gone and go no contact with him and live my life for me and give your grandson as much love as possible.
I wish you the very best.
As long as he was #1 and you spent those years giving him all the attention or anything else he wanted, things were fine.
The very second you needed help with that poor child, you found out
he has absolutely no empathy for anyone but himself.
Heaven help you if you get hurt or sick------He will expect you to just keep on taking care of him.
I also expect he is at least partially, for the problem you are having with. How dare him call your grandson a bastard.
I really, more than ever think he and his nasty temper are at the root of most of your problems.
It takes a level head, without rages or nasty words to deal with kids. In other words some caring and love.
I could be dead wrong, I was wishing some other people would give some input.
The last thing I want to add, is please listen to what your gut is telling you.
Whatever you do, I wish you the best.
If you want to try it on your own for a while, I would suggest you focus on yourself, then the rest of your family. Do things you enjoy, anything, read a book, take a walk or bubble bath. Go to a movie or to the mall.
It will help if you can keep busy, rather than sit home thinking about him. You need to help yourself. The pain will hurt for a while, but it will get better. For me, I found out I can go where I want, do what I want, and after so long always living for someone else, I love being single and I will never give that up. I even enjoy being able to watch a whole show on TV without being interrupted.
If you really need to, you can always go back, just please think of the things he has said to and about your kids.
I wish you the very best.
Before I left I went through all that you are going through. I would wake in the night and have panic attacks about our situation and never get back to sleep. Some relationships are toxic and when they affect our health in a negative way, it's time to move on. Push through the pain, the other side may surprise you
When he gets you to come home, then he will go back to the way he has always been.
I know you love him, and sometimes we put up with crap from men because our feelings don't let us see the situation clearly, but he's not thinking of anyone but himself. No one forced him to have an affair..to leave you when you needed support from him, those are just excuses.
There is no way past the pain..it's just part of it..you have to get through it by doing the things Gem suggested. Find YOU in this process, because you are rationalizing behavior that is SO less than loving towards you..don't give him more power than he deserves.
Take your grandchildren and love the heck out of them..without Mr. Nasty harping at you to pay more attention to him. You deserve to be loved too- and what he's showing you is not love.
I wish you the best!!
But, as long as he (your husband) is your number one priority...then your marriage was okay. Sounds pretty hypocritical.
Was he an only child? Was the younger woman he started a relationship with (while you two are still married) without any children?
Don't blame yourself for his garbage. You're taking on a lot of responsibilities for good causes, and he's not helping, he's throwing tantrums. I know you love him, but while he's acting like this, he's no better than an undisciplined child, and yet he's supposed to be an adult. Wishing you strength...but you seem pretty strong to me, already. Hang in there.
