I had posted earlier how my ex wife texted me to wish me a Happy Fathers Day which I deleted. Today I get an email at work again wishing me the same thing and hoping I had a great day (I had a GREAT weekend with both my kids but why should I tell her?)..Then going on and on about how my daughter needs to wear her retainer (She just got her braces off) then asking me if I have been getting on her about her car tabs that are coming due..! HAHA! My daughter is almost 18, her boyfriend is 21, they both work and are well aware of her tabs. My daughter is not mentally deficient, she knows when to wear her retainer. She can discuss these monumental problems with our daughter, NOT ME. I chuckled and tossed it into the trash bin. See, when you pack up and leave me with my daughter, you dont get to discuss car tabs, you dont get to hope I had a great fathers day. You made your bed, go lie in it. I really dont even care with who. She can be someone elses headache.
To those struggling with No Contact..this is by no means a walk in the park. We were together for many years. But this is the only way
to heal. I tried talking and being friends the first couple of months, that was a big mistake. She moved on a long time ago, now I have to!! Good luck everyone, thanks for letting me share ;)

Thanks Butterfly, haha! I figure why not try and have some fun with it? I need to laugh more, and believe me this helps. That last line she wrote, "Im wanting to know if you are getting on her about it" hahaha! You lost that privilege when you packed up. Maybe I am..maybe Im not...maybe Im just taking a nap..LOL!!

Once again I will say you are my inspiration. My STBX does not contact me unless it has to do with money and when I contact him it has to do with our 14 year old son. I have not spoken, texted or emailed him since Thursday of last week. I am trying my best to just continue this way. I am hoping that with some dedication on my part, the next time I speak to him will be at our divorce hearing when it is scheduled in the next couple of months. I can see how freeing it is to not have contact with someone who abandoned you, but also how serene it is to not care what they are doing. I am not there yet, but I look forward to the day when it arrives. Thanks for sharing.

wow, i think you have the right attitude and that is great. it is still very hard for me not talking to my ex, but have remained NC for 3.5 weeks now. he txt ME on Fathers Day night, him telling me "happy fathers day." i didn't respond. i feel he was being a sarcastic jerk, as in trying to remind me it was FD, since i didn't contact him at all. idk. anyway, even though i don't contact him or respond to him, i struggle with wanting to talk to him. even though he is a total a-hole and doesnt deserve my time. i really admire your attitude, i'm working on getting there myself. big hugs!

It seems like NC is hard for all of us. My ex has not contacted me at all. It would make me feel maybe a little better to get a text, atleast I know he remembers that I exsisted. :( For him to just be okay that he is not hearing from me or does not care what I may be doing sucks.

Kbbcoop and happymamma you two are leading the pack with NC. I will be there soon. Hopefully :(

You say your ex moved on a long time ago, but hasn't stopped her manipulative impulses ( my interpretation concerning her persistent contact re father's day). You are lucky to be in a strong frame of mind now and do resolved about NC. What is clear from your post is how achieving NC takes time. You are lucky your kids are a lot older and independent. Butterfly appears to be at an early stage of breakup. Before long I hope she knows she doesnt need contact from her ex to validate her existence. Best wishes to all..
