Breaking Free Community Group
Breaking Free is about releasing you from your stronghold's...captivity...bondage; so you can find Freedom and Liberty in Christ. This is a Christ-Centered Group to help us heal...whether it be from abuse, temptations, addictions...or whatever is holding you back from experiencing a Joy-Filled Life with Christ. This is the place to find support and heal as we...
Muscle Spasms...could be related to an overactive nervous system. Propranolol may help. It's actually a BP med, but used in PTSD to decrease adrenaline and help w/ anxiety. Klonopin, an anxiety med, may also help w/ the spasms. I think Lyrica may also be helpful.
If not in therapy, I would highly recommend therapy. You need to process through these flashbacks and all these memories you are keeping held back. If you don't process those memories, they stay in that area of your brain and will continue to haunt you...you need to process them and put them in a different 'place' in your brain.
EMDR, google it, can be helpful. Regular Cognitive Behaviorial Therapy isn't the greatest therapy method, but an eclectic approach may be helpful. A processing therapy is helpful. It can take time...took me 2 years, but still healing, but I am functional now.
Sometimes meds are needed...and that's ok....I was on meds, but now weaning down on them. It can get better, but you have to deal with it, and not push/block it back in the past, and try to live in the present...you have to process the past so you can live in the present.
It comes back to haunt you in your adult years...and there's no good time to deal with it...but the time is here for you...so make the time now and heal yourself...Christ can be a major part of your healing, but you need some assistance from therapy and meds and family support!
Good Luck!!
