Hi 'beecute', I was wondering if you are still using the brain port and how is it going?

I'm looking eagerly for the brainport device to help my mother who is 83 energetic woman who still works on her own beauty saloon and unfortunately got an antibiotic remedy that damaged her vestibular system. She can handle by herself only at home but can't go outside. I wrote to WICAB company and got this reply: "Our controlled study showed no difference between the balance device and a sham device, so we have no chance to get FDA clearance in the US. As a result, we stopped selling it internationally. I am sorry I cannot help you".- can somebody clarify this answer please?
Since we live in Israel, any other place on the planet is good enough. If somebody knows the exact details of a company that do sells this fantastic aid, please let me know.

I wish we had a good treatment for your mother. I think there were some flaws in the study unfortunately. From what I understand Wicab has moved on to working a BrainPort vision device. For a while they were available in Canada and parts of Europe. Maybe not anymore.I am still hopeful that someone will pick up the balance device research.

These researchers do not provide medical care but would know the latest on the research and development on the balance device, I would think.

I am still using my BrainPort 5 years later and it is amazing the ways in which it has changes my life!

Hi Joodachrista, My symptom improvement has been *dramatic*! I do still have some symptoms here but I no longer have the daily struggle that I used to have. I can do so much more and am so much less dizzy. I can dance, shop, travel, etc.!

if you are so willing, I would love to ask you a few questions about your experience with it- i've been emailing with wicab and they are set to re-release the balance device again in the fall. It seems like it's my last hope and if you wouldn't mind maybe I could ask you some questions about your symptom improvement? I am 28 and have been dealing with this since I was 19 (although mine is likely from a concussion/neck injury, I am getting better vestibular tests done at the house clinic this week so we shall see). I do get vertigo which has calmed down with medication but I have this constant unsteady disequilibrium swimmy feeling, like I am walking on a trampoline or the moon ALWAYS, it never goes away. Not sure if that is what you had.
