According to our local weatherman, this is the fourth snowiest winter on record. ( and the records go back to the 1920s) . I have SAD - seasonal affective disorder. I am so apathetic , procrastinating about everything, and despite vitamin D, ready to shoot my husband. It seems all I am doing is shoveling or slipping on ice! I'm reminded of a children's book that starts out "I went to bed with gum in my mouth; now there's gum in my hair"- a book about a bad day.
I'm better when I"m with people, so I'm trying to get out as much as possible. It's hard though when Steve ( the weatherman) is constantly saying "Stay off the roads so the plows can get through". I know this is a temporary thing; it's always worse in February, but this year it's terrible. But better weather is coming :)
If you'd like to smile ( and see what my weather is like) ,, go to youtube and type in "Grounds for Violence". It's a parody of Simon and Garfunkle's song "sounds of silence" , but written by someone in Canada who is having as much fun with snow as I'm having. I hope you all are having a better winter than I am. There, I"m done venting, thanks. -Holly

I know the feeling Holly. This is the coldest February Chicago has ever recorded on the books and the 3rd snowiest ever too. Oh am I really suppose to have any sympathy for California when they have a earthquake or Florida after a hurricane hits? Those are just random anyhow, while every year here is guaranteed to suck! Especially this effing year. That on top of all my other miserable problems is reason enough to just wish I was dead already.

Hugs to all, this bitter cold/snow/ice....Enough Already....it is March 1st....time for spring...flowers!! I have depression anyway, but this winter even I had cabin fever here on the East coast!! It's dangerous to walk and drive and the roof collapses are scary.....for the first time ever I had groceries delivered, my car was buried in snow and below zero temps made it a popsickle...I used Whole foods..the cost was not bad/and the woman who delivered was so nice...it was uplifting to connect with someone.....even a total stranger....Hope and Blessings for all...we need to vent!!

Cheesecake I was out jogging this morning and if felt more like January 1st, not March 1st today. Considering it was only 17 degrees and the snowbanks around here are still 5 to 6 feet high. I'm stuck with running on the streets a lot too since a lot of the sidewalks still have too much ice and snow on them.

I found a drugstore that delivers my drugs so I'm not screwed in bad weather as I cant drive. I'm effectected by seasonal disorder too. I bought a lamp that lights up my whole apartment so I have some light. I use a light that lasts 8 years so I don't have to pay out the butt to have light. My apt is lovely but light dosnt shine in during summer either. Maryland isn't as bad as everywhere else in snowfall. But I hate winter and suffer more depression. Thank goodness its March. The days are longer and this bull_ _ _ _ is over soon. I relate my friend. I've gone shopping just to have people around me and didn't even need anything. Sat in the foodcourt hoping to sit with someone alone too.
