I wish I had an answer for you. I just started dating some one with a 4yr old TBI and it's hard trying to decipher the mood swings and what causing them. Something you did or him not being about to process what's going on. The good and bad thing is you knew him before the accident. It good because you knew his personality. I didn't know him before. It's bad because you expect him to be that guy and he's not. I know it's a struggle. Just try to take it one day at a time. Know that ever day's a new day. It's twice as hard for him as is it for you. Be patient with him and most important, both of you keep going to therapy.

My husband and his family hid everything about his accident and his head injury, he's impotent has only 1 kidney, dosent work, always sleeps..
He's like an animal no feelings or emotions
I found all this myself in 3 months of my wedding and I'm 30 yrs..i was shattered!

You know ur fiance before his accident... Please share things and take lot of positive suggestions from friends and relatives..
The best person would be ur mom to guide and assist you..

U need to be strong and healthy to take care of him so don't get stressed

I suspect my husband having TBI as only after marriage and after looking at his skull X ray and scans reports I figured out the reason for his abnormal behaviour.

Do you think it's easy to deal with husband with TBI.

My parents want me to leave him as he's arrogant and not affectionate and loving..but I have second thoughts.. With nothing I can relate to as good times with him!

Please tell me if it will be ok or easy to deal with a TBI husband

You all hv me in tears as I completely understand being in love with a man with a TBI . If anyone needs a friend I'm here for support . My friends and family can't understand any of this to the point that I just hide it and deal with it myself - it's hard . hey there! Im here to talk if you still need someone. My husband has had a tbi since 2014 and like stated already, its never a dull moment. what i did was make a list of all the reasons i fell in love with him and things i remembered from before his accident. (we decided it was a good idea to be 19 and drink and drive, he was driving.) Its easy to forget the old person they used to be. even he says he doesnt remember himself anymore. many days i have to leave and take the day to just breathe and do something with the kids because he gets into these terrible moods where nothing i say is right and hes not very nice sometimes. Were still in the middle of a million doctors appointments and testing etc. its over whelming and its not just the person with a tbi that needs support. The caregiver goes through a lot. Its hard to be the one who holds down the fort everyday! I wish i could say it gets better because I havent got to that point yet but im praying for that day. not for my sake but because its so hard to watch him hate himself when he used to be such an amazing person.. still is, just different. I wish i could take it all away from him.
