Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.
Hi everyone-Well, it has been 3 months since I had my fall. I still have problems with balance, memory, concentration and speaking (wrong words come out of my mouth!). But something new has happened. Before I fell, I was a pretty good pianist. I play the keyboard for out group at church, and I've given lessons for 30 years. But since I have fallen, my playing is horrible. I know what I am supposed to be playing, but for some reason, my fingers aren't playing what my mind is telling them to play. I had rehearsal last night, and had to appologize to the group because I made so many mistakes, which I usually don't do. Am I correct in assuming that this is another problem from the post concussion syndrome? Why is it showing up now? Will it correct itself? I see the neurologist in a couple of weeks, but was just wondering if anyone else had something new show up after this amount of time. Thanks for your help. God Bless. Kathy
I've typed for many years with minimal errors...since? well lets just say backspace was one of my favorite keys. It is getting better with practice. Playing games on the comptuer will help, sewing buttons, writing things of that nature as well as practicing the piano, it will get better, but as with everything we have trouble with it only gets better if we don't give up trying to improve.
