Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

I have brain injury due to childhood trauma that is now causing me a few problems. Because of trauma from a young age my neurologist stated that part of my brain had shut down. I am wondering if that is why now I am having issues e.g I get frustarted easy. I have overcome alot in my life due to it but last year I founded out that my brain had suffered a lot. I end up seeing a neriologist that specialist in brain disorder etc. She is no longer my doctor and i misses her. Now I have to see a TBI eye doctor and I realized that things are werid I just thouht that I was.
First of all, blessings to you .. it can be so hard to accept what IS. I sustained my first head injury in 2010, my second in 2011. If left untreated, brain injury and the symptoms of, do get worse over time. Is there a tbi rehab program near where you live? They'll teach you the tools you need to live and wipe with brain injury. Cuz it can be tough! But that's why we're here too. :)
My former neurologist only recommend speech therapy and for my eyes I see a TBI eye doctor. But apart from that nothing else. I was affected much growing up but was nonverbal and had certain challenges but now in my forties is where I am having more problems. I read an article on TBI from childhood trauma and what I recall the health challeneges that I have etc is normal. I miss my former neurologist because I would talk to her easily but it what it is.
