Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

Having a hard time

Hi guys. Really struggling lately. My life has taken a massive u-turn, work, love life, social life and everything in between. Im a million miles away from everyone I know, I'm depressed, anxious and paranoid. It's just creating a whole new world of problems. I'm giving in. I really can't be bothered to fight anymore. I have tried to take it all away twice and haven't had the balls to finish. But one day I think will. It scares me but other times it makes perfect sense. I cannot see a future. Just a pile of issues I have to fight everyday under the judgemental eye of the people who have no idea about what problems people have to deal with.

Jazz, I get it, I have been in the blackest of holes, lost job, lost home, etc, etc.,,I could not read or write for 10 minutes w/o severe eye/brain pain...this was years ago and it seemed hopeless, but somehow I could not give up...I kept trying a little at a time, a minute, a day, a week...moment by moment sometimes it seemed, and things slowly got a little better. Sometimes the future evolves into a new path that we could not see, but there can be a future. Keep Hope going Jazz, I am so sorry, but keep fighting, You are Not Alone in this..,we care! Thank you for your response. Sorry it took a while to reply. I kind of pull myself away and go into self destruct mode. The issue is I dip in and out of, as I can only explain as a fog and it mentally and physically drains me. I literally can't think straight, my head hurts and I look ill. I'm 30 and I seriously struggle to balance my life. At the end of the day I can't have a time out to get 'better' and hold down a job without something causing issue. I'm stretched so much. And 'normal' people who I try explain the endless list of things I fight off just don't see why I'm like this and why something's could be so hard. But to be honest, I can't keep up with myself, how can I expect that of others. I hope I get better, if not I've got a long painful life ahead and what is there too look forward to in that?

I'm new here. I got my t.b.of.
March2nd 2015. I didn't even know what a t.b.I was when I was discharged from trauma center. I had to Google it! I have no family that gives a crap .my kids hardly speak to me at all.they all were separated because of my accident and not having the ability to take care of them .I lost my home my job .everything. I feel so alone..!!

We all have so much in common... just reading the post and the comments. Let's lean on eachother for support. I too am in the same scary ups and downs... the self destruct and then the I can do it! It's an endless fight but I feel like we can do it if we have the right resources and eachother for support. Normal people don't and won't understand unfortunately.... it's impossible for them unless they're in our shoes.
