Brain Injury Support Group
Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.
You always have a place here to be understood, but please don't let anyone put a *label* on you....this journey is so hard and often misunderstood, which is why my hope for you and anyone else in your position, is to get the best TBI Specialist you can find, experienced, and help talking out some of the emotions that go along with trauma and so much change, a good therapist is worth their weight in gold, IMHO!! We care about you!! Blessings and Hope!
How are you doing now? Are your meds helping?
I think I'd like to be in Florida this winter... I'm dreading the snow because my doctors put constraints on my "fun". It's slippery outside so they don't even want me to take walks, let alone snow shoe, cross country ski etc.
