Traumatic brain injury occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.
Nat has some great ideas...and practice is the key. Goals have really helped me. Start small and work up to bigger ones even if it is...do my exercises X amount of times a day. You don't want to lose what you have gained!!
You need structure in your life right now, and you are the best one to set that up, and only you can make yourself follow thru.
I don't know of any motivational tools so to speak. Just personal perseverence, and desire for better than you are right now.
You CAN push yourself to make a difference! Stay strong and keep working hard. :)
Start with a short and easy list . You can write the list down on paper or put on your computer.
I sometimes send myself an email with my list on it. to remind myself
On rough days my list had things like : get up. Shave. Shower. Get dressed. Eat breakfast. Sometimes even those weren't easy.
Be proud of everything you accomplish on your list. Over time you will add more challenging things, but be patient. Recovery takes a LONG time. Good luck :)
