I GUESS NO HAS THIS TYPE OF INJURY, OTHERWISE I WOULD OF HEARD FROM AT LEAST ONE OTHER PERSON.

I am so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. I wish I can say I can relate, but I am a survivor of a brain injury and know only people who have survived. I pray you find some peace.

Marie, I read your post and was trying to come up with something comforting, again as usual...my old "way with words" is yet another known loss of my old self.

Your last post says no one has this type of injury, well...I haven't lost someone the way you did, but I've lost many I do love very much so I do know how you feel.

This group is for Brain Injury, but we are supporting survivors care givers, family & friends here that have to deal with.

I wasn't avoiding your post it hit very close to home in that...I am very lucky to be alive as many of us here are.

You brought up a lot of what ifs I try very much to avoid...like "It would have been easier on everyone if I had died."

I am a survivor and very willing to fight each and every battle for my recovery!

I have to agree with 08sporty, most on this list are either survivors of TBI or caregivers of TBI, but I also see my son struggle everyday with the fact of surviving. He states "no mom, you don't understand, I was supposed to die but something happened and I didn't". Yes, I do still have my son with me physically, but he is not the same little boy I raised or even the same "bad boy" I was having problems with until a week before the wreck. And yes, I do still have my son physically on this earth, but I do also see the possibility of where you are and I have great empathy for you. I will pray for your healing. In His Name, Kat

I thought i woild post the cdc's stats on tbi's every year 1.4 million are reported; of that 50,000 die and 1.1 million that are reported go untreated beyond er. Then there are numerous others that do not get reported, as people try to cope pn their own-much like those of us who are survivors as the therapy we need is not provided. I'm 3yrs 4 mos from my injury and I pray that God will provide you comfort through family and friends, strength to get thru the most hurtful months after your loss, but I also pray that you can feel joy through your memories and the memories your family members have of your wonderful husband. Amen

I can relate to the loss, as my father passed away 1/31/02 and belive me you need to go through the grief process, which is different for everybody. Maybe you can find a grief place like I did in Atlanta called The front porch, it had family members and licensed therapist that monitored the sessions. They even had differnt sessions based on ages of children, so if you find a place like this your chldren and grandchildren could get help thorugh this type of situation. I wish you luck on your healing and I can assure you that you be aware that emotions will come up on especially on the fist birthday after, the first thanksgiving after , the first christmas after, your annniversary ; I'm telling you this so you can be better prepared to know that those emotions will increase during these times. But it is tru that the pains eases gradually over time, even though you feel right now that it won't.
