Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain. Outcome can be anything from complete recovery to permanent disability or death. A coma can also affect a child's brain.

I got a weird topic for you all. Is there anyone out there haveing strange dreams sense their TBI? Eample: I just had a dream with a lot of people in it , to look at them I couldnt tell you who they where, but I called them all by the names of people I know now. Its just like they all traded bodys with someone else. I have had these strange dreams eversense the wreck...For the most part I forget the dreams a couple hours after waking up. I just end up with a lost filling like why can I not put a face with a name. Told you all it was weird...

Hi Rednecknit, I have different kinds of REM sleep now. Sometimes it's just jumbled pieces of life stuff that doesn't bother me and I forget easily, but sometimes I dream so much, intense I'd call it, where when I wake up I'm exhausted and dream sleep is supposed to help us feel rested, but I have wondered if too much REM can be overwhelming to a TBI brain? I think this is a good topic.

Do you have memory issues, faces with names during the day? If I don't see my neighbors for awhile, I remember their faces but sometimes draw a blank on their name. The more I see them to say their name the better for my memory. Short term memory is still a problem for me, but it has improved.

hey cheesecake, if the dreams are real intense then I'll wake filling like I just put in a 12 hour shift. I've always had the name face prob even before the wreck. I used to tell people not to waste their time telling me their name, I'd just learn after a week or two.... Short term memory truly got all jacked up after the wreck. Like I've visited the place I worked and some of the people I could tell you everything about them but their name. A friend seems to think I'm reliving past lives or something, but I'm really not into that kind of stuff. At least I dont know if that stuff is truly a possabillty. But who really knows right

Since the injury my dreams have become much more intense but whereas before I could remember specific details, no I no longer can. What I can recall makes no sense like the theme of the dream being centered around a set of numbers. Also in the dreams where there are people involved they a seem very familiar to me but in real life I know not a one of them while before if I had dreams about people they most often were about people I actually knew. Many of the dreams are ruminating so those can be particularly frustrating, poor sleep nights.
