Brain / CNS Tumors Support Group
A brain tumor is any intracranial tumor created by abnormal and uncontrolled cell division, normally either found in the brain itself, in the cranial nerves, in the brain envelopes, skull, pituitary and pineal gland, or spread from cancers primarily located in other organs (metastatic tumors). Brain tumors may be benign or malignant.
! was only diagnosed 4 weeks ago.
after my tumor was removed to kill off remaining cells, but i know a l;ot of peaple use it to kill tumors with great results,my nuro usesit on manpatients,my experience was ok,the halo you have to wear for the treatment was a little painfull, but the staff did all they could to make me comfortable, the only side effect i find is i can't hold onto written words in my memory, and i love to read, but my short term memory is shot.don't know if it's from the surgery, anesthesea,or the gammaknife.
Hope you are coping - I also love to read and can empathise.

The nurse talked to me for while. Then the neurosurgeon and his assistant put the sterotactic frame on mine head. First , they sterilize four areas where the headframe will be attached. I took 2 ex strength tyneol at 11am and Lorazepam at 7am. It has been 11 days since my radiation treatment. I felt a little tired but I am having a hard time sleeping. I talked to the onocology nurse on Friday that I was feeling fine and let her know that i wasn't called for a follow-up visit
If anyone is experience severe that last more than an hour. There are others signs vomiting, changes in your vision and headaches. I would call your doctor and let him know.
