Boomers Plus Community Group
Our group is primarily for those born from 1946 to 1964 and earlier. Come here to discuss the good and bad things about your age, retirement, benefit problems, and activities. And, maybe throw in a memory or two. If you're younger, you might learn where our generation is coming from. All are welcome.

had a pet rabbit for 7 years from grade 5 or 6 on i think. i still prefer rabbits as a pet. indoors in the winter (too cold for it) and outdoors the rest of the year. trained it on a harness and leash, what properties it was okay to run on. it stayed within a two house radius on its own and neighbors would call if it dug up anything, to fill it in, or if they were going to mow the lawn, so they didn't scare it. looking at the kind of neighbors we have had since back then, we were verrrrry lucky OR things were different back then.
had two cats that were "ours" and fed all strays, would use my allowance money to buy food for them and look for homes for them and become friends with them.
when i was very young, my mom had a petting zoo. she was still in college and bought an old farm for land value, and got the animals and all that. she was on 4-h when she was young. its how i learned to walk and they were my baby sitters - (not a smart thing to do).
because of allergies, toy poodles was the next round of pets and still is. still have allergies to most dogs, and horses etc., but allergy to cats is gone. so have a lot of cats and do cat and small dog rescue as a hobby today.
