I went through stage 2 transitional cell carcinoma at 25 back in 2004. Surgery removed the cancer and I've been fine ever since. However last week I had a large amount of coagulating dark red urine that continued to get fainter red until I healed sometime over the weekend. I went to the ER after the first sign and had a CT with contrast performed and they detected no cancers with that scan. In 2004 it was a golf ball. Obviously they cannot detect lesions with CT, and I was bleeding. But as it subsided they said call the urologist. No high creatin levels, no bacteria, no parasites, nothing in lab work.
As in 2004, I have no pain at all, no other symptoms but hematuria. Is it common for anyone for this to be a sign, and what should i make of it?
Can anyone offer insight or reassurance about what may come? I think cancer when I see blood.

So far I have had a cat scan with contrast, no results yet and I am waiting to have a cysto-urethroscope. I feel fine now and it seems to have sorted its self out but the drs instist that I go ahead with the tests.
So, maybe , someone will come along and answer both our question!. I am sorry to hear you have been unwell and will keep my best wishes for you , that this is not a return of the old problem . Cath278.
