Would you risk losing your best friend?

I think I am in love with my best friend. I 'met' her in May of last year. Online only since I am in the US and she is in Amsterdam.
We talk every day, all day long. She says she loves me, but it could be just as a friend.
I want to tell her how I feel, but am afraid of losing her as a best friend. I've never had a friend like her, someone that I feel so close to. We talk about everything, and anything. There is no topic off limits.
I don't know what to do!

Oh and I actually consider myself pansexual. And she knows that.

As a bisexual who has ruined a lot of friendships both male and female by sleeping with or trying to sleep with them, I would say it's not worth it and could ruin the friendship.

I too have a very intense long-distance telephone relationship with a straight woman who lives in Walnut Creek, and while she is my best friend I have already decided that a romantic entanglement is out of the question once she moves to LA because I don't want to ruin what is great about our friendship.

Regrettably, sometimes not going for it is the better path. If you feel it will ruin the friendship it probably will.
