Bisexuality is a sexual orientation which refers to the aesthetic, romantic, and/or sexual attraction of individuals to other individuals of both their own and the opposite gender or sex. Most bisexuals are not equally attracted to men and women, and may even shift between states of finding either sex exclusively attractive over the course of time.

I have an odd question - where does one start in their sexual exploration?
I am 28, I have always been bisexual, however aside from a few one-night 2nd base hook ups, I've never really been able to explore my sexuality with the same sex. I am very attracted to other women and can picture myself dating or being in a relationship with one, but having never really had the opportunity, I don't even know where to start.
I have come out to a few close friends, but no family, which adds to my anxiety. I am very close to my family and would feel strange dating someone without them knowing about it - however, to "come out" to them before I really got in to a relationship seems weird too.
I feel like I need to find a woman who will be patient and understanding as I kind of ease in to the waters of my sexuality and see how deep my attraction goes. That being said - I desperately fear rejection because I may not be a perfect 50/50 split in my sexuality. I fear judgement from a lesbian, or other bi sexual woman for not being able to perform, or commit to a type of relationship I've never had before. I feel like I have to be true to myself, but I don't know how.
It seems like being bisexual is more complicated - because you just fall for a person - not a gender - but it's so much harder for that person to accept you. It seems like people really want sexuality to be black and white - 100% gay or straight - and I think for SO many people, it isn't.
Any ideas on how to explore my sexuality while still protecting myself from rejection/judgement?

I came out as bisexual when I was 15, I'm 39 now, and although I've experienced a lot of biphobia, mostly from lesbians, gay men tend to be a lot more accepting of bisexual women and then you can go to gay events with them so double wingman bonus.
There are women out there who will be kind and patient and understanding with your level of sexual experience, there are always the ladies who like to teach, and you are still young.
You just need to get yourself where you can meet these ladies. Meet up groups are a good way to meet gay people I have heard, although I don't go to them personally. you could also see if the city you live in has an LBGT Center with lesbian chat or lesbian/bisexual support or social groups or classes where you could meet other queer chicks.
if you're a student you could see if your college has a LBGT club of some sort and go to their events, another good way to meet queer women. There's also Internet dating, I hear Ok Cupid is great, although I've never done it myself.
As you are still in your twenties, you're of the age where female friends experiment with each other after a few tequila shots, so if it happens,, it's usually harmless and a good way to get practice and learn about your sexuality. Experimenting with like-minded friends was how i had all of my early lesbian experiences in high school and college.
There is always the local lesbian bar, if you drink, although if you do become a regular welcome to lesbian drama and biphobia, unfortunately. i do love gay bars tho.
