Bisexuality Support Group
Bisexuality is a sexual orientation which refers to the aesthetic, romantic, and/or sexual attraction of individuals to other individuals of both their own and the opposite gender or sex. Most bisexuals are not equally attracted to men and women, and may even shift between states of finding either sex exclusively attractive over the course of time.
Ok, I'll agree that many of us match a specific look, but there's just as many who don't. What you're describing is "femme." I'm pretty femme, too. But I date femme, butch, and in between.
My recommendation is not to worry how you look. Be comfortable and confident in who you are. Get active in your local LGBTQ community, check out the local center. Start building LGBTQ social circles and you won't have to worry about not being pegged as lesbian. Good luck!
Just as everyone in life, we don't know everything a person just from what they look like, other than human, walking upright, mammal...
My biggest advice I feel I can add to the last post, look up for gay friendly places (my favorite was a coffee house) or other businesses. Also look up LGBTQ for your area they can help you in meeting others. not in the dating scene, but more for friends.
I hope this helps a little.
i never was really attracted to "lesbian" women, more attracted to "straight" or "straight looking" "femme" as someone said. not sure if that is because i am trans or was always like a tomboy- but never attacted to my "own type" so to speak- it is complicated in a way attraction that is.
i wish we could all just be out and open and talk about being our self and be able to be honest without fear of discrimination-
i have heard a few "femme" women talk about how "invisible "they feel because people read them as "straight " women. i hope you find some fun folks to get to know!
