Without going to the discussion I'll simply say that what the Bible says on homosexuality and what a lot of hetrosexual Christians have to say on it are two differrent things in many cases. This is one topic where many Christians use the Biblepassages to promote GAY Bashing by equating sexual orientation with sexuality of gay persons. And as a post script: Romans 1 is NOT condemning homosexual sexuality. It is condemning idolatory as committed by hetrosexuals.

Douglasn, thank you for stating that it is many Christians which promote gay bashing. By that then I can say many don't. But is is also just as easily done by "many" that promote to "gay" agenda. If I read it and understand it like it is written< Roman 1 says For the reason of their idolatry God gave them up to the passions of their dishonor. those passions were homosexual behaviors. Where is heterosexual behavior mentioned there.

Yes a lot of mis-informed Christians are responsible for gay-bashing. Then there are the gay-bashers that have never stepped foot in a church, yet claim they did if for Christian reasons.

A lot of churches are very welcoming and accepting. My home church, is one that accepts anyone, regardless of anything. I was out of church for several years because of my decision to live is a gay man. During this time my dad was constantly requesting prayer for me, so I would change my sexuality. When I returned back to church, I was terrified of the reception I would receive, however everyone was actually glad to see me and wanted to catch-up on everything. I received several hugs, and hand-shakes, even though the entire church is aware of who and what I am, I got a very warm reception. Some Christians believe in the love of God, not the hatred of people that are religious but not Christian, and should not have a place in the operation of the church, as most of them are more satan-ish than Godly.

The Bible also says defacing the body (tattoos) is a sin..
But I do have to add, if you had ink before you became a Christian, that doesn't count... Just can't add to it after words...

I just love how everyone only quotes the Bible just enough to make their point, but leaves out the stuff that would show THEY are doing wrong too!!

Also, why didn't God tell them not to have sex with their daughters or sons? Yes, it says don't have sex with close relatives, but then goes on to name every other close relationship. Why not daughters and sons?

A 2000+ year old book that took a total of 600 years for 'men' to write; claiming they are quoting 'God' for us, doesn't explain why for the last 2000+ years we haven't heard a peep from God through any new prophets or disciples.

I don't believe God wrote a book. Man did.
I believe if He wrote a book once, He would have written another, especially due to the fact that this 'book' has been used to hate and kill in His Name.

In response to reply number 2 Those that were given up to the passions of their dishonor desiring homosexual sexuality were hetrosexual idolators. This form of judgement would have had no effect on homosexual idolators because they had those desires already. Thus for such a judgement to have had an effecr it would need to be directed towards those it would effect: hetrosexuals, who never had those desires for same sex sexuality. In the next couple of verses it is written that these idolators "gave up the natural functioning of those of the opposite gender for sexual gratification. This would not be seen in the GLB community. They had desires for their own gender for sex as long as could be imagined during their lives. So hetrosexuals gave up the natural sexual functioning of those of the opposite gender and burned in their hearts for those of their own gender as a result of their idolatory and the hardenning of their hearts. So hetrosexuals had to be the ones committing idolatory for such a judgement to have such an effect.
