You need not approach girls if you don't want to. If you want to than, and this applies to guys as well you'd want to make love too, you may want to see a therapist, even a sex therapist to explore your fears and how being so introverted can be a hinderance or finding a way to enjoy sex as an introvert. Maybe you were told some stuff as a child that should not have been said in like manner by your parents or maybe you were a victim of sexual abuse. I experienced both. But such can destroy the natural enjoyment of a natural sex life. And sex was meant to be fun. That is an avenue I'd suggest you explore. And sex therapists are not there to suggest you act out sexualy in the office. There is NO taking off of clothes. There are psychologists, etcetra if you prefer to go that route. Sounds like you could use with the help however to put the "fun" back into sex, irregardless as to whether it be with a guy or a girl.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being bi. Or being straight if that turns out to be the case. You're curious and want to explore. You don't need therapists or the support if your family for that. You're a young woman. Do what young women do when they want to meet people... Go out! In this case, target queer-friendly places. Gay bars may be a good place to start. Be aware, many lesbians have hang-ups with bi women, so you may find yourself rejected quite frequently if that's the sort of community you find yourself in. Try not to take it to heart.

I find it hard to approach women, too. I have to constantly remind myself that if we both step into the stereotypical female role, nothing will happen because the male is "supposed" to make the first move! Lucky for me, my current girlfriends weren't nearly so shy. :-)

You seem to have more of a problem with shyness than with your sexual orientation. I myself was very shy on the sexual arena of relating to others. I grew up with "gentlemen don't touch ladies. I sure did not need sex ED. But sexuality was always traumatic when learning of it through actually doing it. And for years it was so HUSH HUSH. I can never really get to have a climax unless there is an emotional side to the sexual experience, affection, foreplay and that type of thing. If it is to be sterile of emotion and love than what is the point to it all. I discoverred what seemed to be up with my mother and have fixed that. So I am comfortable with anybody who is seeking monogamous sexuality. You need to work on that shyness of yours though I do strongly believe.

I agree w y'all I need to get over my shyness and just put myself out there to c what happens. Douglasn, a sex therapist may help as well but I think I will explore that down the road when I have myself more together.

I am also an introvert and quite shy. I dont think you have to "get over" it because its who you are. if its uncomfortable for you to approach people, then dont. I agree with going to the environment where someone may approach you...if you can. If that isnt an option (like for me where its a small town with no gay friendly places) or you are too uncomfortable, the explosion of online dating has helped those of us who are shy and are in small areas.
