Hi,

okay so I'm a teenage girl and most my life I've had boyfriends and liked boys and never really thought any different. But past year I realised I like girls aswell and I'm starting to except that. So I'm bisexual I've told my family and best friend and all took it well and supported me. At the mementos I have a boyfriend and I decided to come out to him because I want to be completely open With him so I told him. He reacted okay but was saying things like 'I need to turn you fully straight' or 'don't ditch for a girl' etc.. these comments made me feel uncomfortable I felt like he was annoyed at me for being bisexual so I insistently regretted telling him. However I do think I like him a lot so I don't know what to do because if I did breakup with him there's no gay or bi girls in my school or any boys I find attractive and I've been single for so long and really want a relationship right now so does anyone have any advice ? Also how do you know your just bi and not a lesbian I have so many doubts and very confused about my sexuality right now someone please help :( xxx

You did the right thing. Don't be afraid of your sexuality, just do what you like. If you are bisexual it is only up to you whether you choose a male or a female lover, There is no general decision between males and females required!

I’m currently going through something similar both with my sexuality and I’ve also gone through a similar relationship situation like yours. So it sounds a little bit like your bf might not be very supportive and I have dealt with something very similar in my life. I’m 21 this year and let me tell you school is not the be all and end all to meet people :) trust me you will meet heaps of new people outside of school! But I realise at the current moment you feel you like/love your current bf and want to stay with him and that is your choice of course :) but just make sure that you feel supported because that is so very important! If he turns around and doesn’t want to accept you for how you may be then it may end up hurting you in the long run, so just be wary :) but you did the right thing opening up!!
As for being bisexual/lesbian/straight I’m currently experiencing attraction only now for a woman and I also have a bf so I know how you feel and how confronting and confusing it can be, I came on this website myself to get advice with that!
My boyfriend has been very supportive yet he also worries I will leave him for a woman. He has a few trust issues due to being cheated on in the past, but for the most part he is trying to be understanding and supportive :)
The only people I’ve told is two of my friends and him so it has been an extremely scary thing for me, so you are very brave for opening up to all the important people in your life :) I hope that you have luck with it all and just take it slow you have time to figure it out :) I wish I had more advice for you but we are in the same boat haha but good luck! Xo
