Yesterday I found out that my husband of 20 years is bisexual.  He has been using a web site and meeting other men.  He has been having sex with them too.  I have seen reviews left by other men detailing their experiences with him. He wants our marriage to work and says it's me he loves and said he will not use the sites again.  I dint believe he will be able to do this.   I'm so hurt, shocked and confused.  What test should I take to make sure I have no disease too

That's actually a really tough one. I'm not sure what I would do in a situation like that. But I myself am bisexual. And I understand the way I feel about the same sex. As for your husband, he may be finally coming out. It's hard to tell what to do under these specific circumstances due to the fact that there could be many things your husband is going through with his sexuality. I understand you're hurt and I'm sorry you had to find out this way. I would ask about how he feels with his sexuality, and get to know him better with this particular situation. You may be the first he has ever talked to about this matter.

Also, I do hope things work out between the two of you. There may be some things your husband needs to work out.

Is he bisexual as he's attracted to men or, is he bisexual as he has sex with men? Many men branch out from being "straight" because their sex lives at home are a decade behind them and dealing with women (outside of marriage) has too much drama.

In terms of testing. See your primary care doc and ask for a complete battery of STD tests. It will involve a blood and urine sample

I will echo the previous post and say that this is a tough situation. It definitely sucks and is not okay that he cheated on you. He stomped all over your heart and spit on 20 years of marriage and that is not okay. At the same time he has just realized he is bisexual or maybe just became brave enough to explore his sexuality. He deserves the chance to discover this part of himself. You don't deserve for him to trample all over your feelings and your marriage to do so. I think you have to come to terms with the fact that your husband is bisexual. He has to come to terms with the fact that he is bisexual. Anytime that a spouse cheats, both parties should get tested just for peace of mind. You and your husband need to talk, I think you should wait until you have felt your emotions, and you can talk with him with a clear head. I know some heterosexual people with bisexual partners allow their partner to become sexually intimate with other people as a way of letting them explore their sexuality. Would that be something you are interested in exploring? He said that he is committed to your marriage, is his willing to stop cheating and remain monogamous? Are there ways he can explore his sexuality without cheating on you? You guys definitely need to be open and honest with each other and talk. Some marriage counseling would be good too. I wish you luck. I hope you and your husband can find a solution that works for everyone.
