My father was already dead at the time so no big deal there. My Mom noticed because I was reading a book on the topic of homosexuality. She would no way have loved me if I was hetrosexual. So I was really missing out on nothing with her. I severred ties with her for unrelated reasons just months back. Those who are religious often go into a tailspin when homosexuality becomes a topic of "discussion". They forget that their god died for everybody. Not just hetrosexuals. And also for those who are hetrosexual who are into XXX Magazines, and there are plenty of them among the religious folk.

When I came out 3 years ago my family didnt want anything to do with me. It was almost a year before they started to talk to me again. I think my Dad has become a bit more accepting than my Mom. Ive found its best not to bring it up when I see them. I want them to get used to it; let it grow on them you know. I havent lost hope that one day they will fully accept me. As for friends I did loose a few really close ones that I thought would stick by me no matter what. So I understand how you feel when the ones you love the most dont accept you. So dont loose hope and keep those who love and accept you during this time close because they give you strength and patience. P.s. feel free to message if you ever need a friend to chat with.

I wish that I could help you but the thing is I haven't come out to my parents yet. I am not sure that I ever will. You mom on the other hand is wrong you are not sinning. She is probably looking at the scriptures of Sodam and Gamora and is misinterpreting in like most do. The same goes for what Paul says in the New Testament. That is why I am not a big fan a paraphrase Bibles because the normally say what most are thinking instead of what is said. The Bible doesn't condemn us and if we are wrong let those who have not sinned be the first to cast the stone.

Thank you all for your kind words. I am really beside myself. I never thought I'd lose my mom after coming out. She's one of the kindest ladies and so understanding with other people. I guess she never thought she'd have to deal with her own daughter coming out. She's spiritual but not very religious so it doesn't make much sense to me why she's pulling the religion card.

I saw my family for the first time all together last night at an event she told me not to go to but then called me asking if I would go? We talked a little bit just with general things but then she wouldn't sit near me. I've seen my dad a few times because we're in a trail together and he actually sat with me last night. We've talked on the phone also but I haven't brought up me coming out. He's been civil and has acted like nothing has changed. Between the two my dad has always been understanding and open to things. I'm seeing him Friday and think I'm going to talk with him and see where he stands. Too soon or should I just keep acting like nothings changed?
