I am a bisexual male and I feel as though its like I do not belong anywhere. I have no place to go. When I look up articles online about bisexual men all I see is studies trying to prove that I don't exist or people saying that men are either gay or straight, that men can't be bisexual. I have been in confrontations where I actually had to argue that I exist. I just got broken up with by my boyfreind because he was not able to be with someone who needed girls sexually too. Now I am heartbroken and hate myself. I wish I was just gay so I could be with him. Now I am trying to talk to women and most dont like that im bisexual. It feels so hard to find anyone who want's a bisexual man. If I was a girl I feel like men would love that I was bisexual. I wish I was a bisexual woman sometimes, not that they do not face horrible hardships too but that they are more accepted. I'm also an alchoholic in recovery so I cant go to bars and it's hard to socialize since everything social revolves around alchohol. I also have extreme social anxiety. I just don't know where to go or what to do. I feel like I have no place I belong.

Also I know bisexual women have many issues too, I don't mean offence.

Hey Star, I completely understand! I've been bisexual my entire life but I'm still not open about it. From time to time I get rumors of being gay, but I'm genuinely not. When people can't out you into a box, they get uncomfortable. I haven't dated girls in a few years, although I did have a long relationship, but part of me really yearns for that again:( I lost a friend from Germany, through travel, due to having mental breakdowns when he'd make gay jokes about me around people... he wouldn't speak to me afterward, so I finally sent him a message saying the truth was, without choice, I'm bi and don't understand the disrespect I get from people for it. Never heard back. On a lighter note, just this month in Germany I finally had a face conversation with another good friend about the truth, he was uncomfortable but finally started to act accepting.. also told another openly bi guy that was in our travel group.
It's really difficult, I don't feel as if I fit in around gay guys, and I'm terrified if I find another girlfriend one day I'll have to hide it again. It's really difficult, plus I also have extremely bad social anxiety because of it. I've never been able to find close connections, friendship or relationship wise, over fear of attraction either way, and fear of judgment. Mix in a bit of childhood abuse, and my my emotional state is all over the place.

Also, of course men can be bisexual! There are a large amount of women who openly admit it, or to previously messing around.The only difference is stigma and I hate it! I just genuinely find emotional and sexual attraction to both sexes, although not always in equal amounts. There are likely many men like us (to some degree) that just won't admit it.

cbi hit the nail on the head: stigma. Double standard, having your cake and eating it too, greedy, selfish, attention seeking, shunned by the gay and straight communities...we do not fit in a box. Especially now that celebrities are glamorizing bisexuality and using it as a tool to sell more albums and keep themselves relevant. We are antagonized from almost every direction. People tend to disbelieve that which they don't understand. Perhaps we can disbelieve those people, because I don't understand how they can be so narrow-minded and judgemental.

I feel your pain, it's like no one can understand how it feels and how difficult it is to fit within monogamous structures when your brain wants more. It's devastating to relationships because they can't see that it's not them failing you, it's that no one person could ever satisfy you no matter how good they are
