I grew up a Christian. I am 42, I left the church about 5 years ago, however I am part of a big family and they are all strong Christians. They would be disappointed in me if I ever lived an openly gay life. I am currently in a heterosexual relationship, however, my physical attraction is mainly to women, but I can fully enjoy a relationship with a man.. however, prior to settling down with my boyfriend, I was dating a woman. When I was part of the church, I felt guilty. Now that I am not part of the church I don’t feel guilt but I do feel fearful of being judged by others. I have been with women, I enjoy that experience.. I hurt for you. I wish you could experience this without guilt! Some churches accept being gay as acceptable. I suggest finding a church accepting of gays so you can be supported and so you can hear the biblical support of being gay. There is a looooot of stuff in the Bible that supports odd things, like killing your kids, or having multiple wives etc.. most churches don’t support those things anymore... and some churches don’t support rejecting gays.If you could choose to not be attracted to women, I’m sure you would, it would make life and your religious choice easier...
My suggestion, find a church to supports you... one accepting of being gay and one that worships Jesus. Good luck friend!

I feel for you too. I wasn't raised Christian, but I identify as one now. Finding an open and affirming Christian Church can be challenging but it's not impossible. You might consider looking into the United Church of Christ or the Episcopal Church, or really any church in your community that has a rainbow flag in front of it. Scripture can be interpreted any number of ways, and although many Christians interpret the Bible to prohibit LGBTQ activity, there are many Christians who would disagree with that.

You might consider reading this article, which points out that for most of history the standard translation of Leviticus 18:22 in most languages/cultures was that God prohibits pederasty (sleeping with young boys), and doesn't make any comments about consensual adult homosexual relationships.

I felt the same way for years. I've always been attracted to both men and women, but I thought it was just a phase that I was going through. My parents definitely don't believe in anything other than being heterosexual. But I cannot control what I like or who I am. I've prayed countless times, but for at least 30 years I've known that I am bisexual, and nothing has changed. My first sexual encounter was with a male and female. I just accepted that this is the way I am. I believe that God still loves me in spite of my sexuality

Please understand that some Christian denominations are welcoming to people who are bi, gay, queer etc. Within these denominations you will find individual churches who are more welcoming than others. Sometimes one needs to move churches within a denomination, other times one has to change denominations. For example, here in Canada the United Church of Canada is very welcoming as a whole, but some individual churches are especially welcoming. The Anglican Church of Canada is also generally welcoming as a whole, but you will find quite a bit of local variety from parish to parish. My local parish is very, very welcoming, has chosen the "local option" with full support of our Archbishop and thus will be marrying same sex couples.

I believe that God loves all of us regardless of our sexuality.
