I was just on another board, we were discussing the difference between needs and wants. The lady that started the discussion made a short posting describing what needs are, what wants are, and then she said that what was left fell into another category, requirements. I'm not going to get into all of that stuff other than just to mention it. But, I made a post like I usually do, I just start and figure it out as I go along. I made what I thought was a very clever description, of my bisexual needs vs. my monogamous straight marriage.

Because of a very bad childhood, I ended up with a need yes, a need to be held by a man, I need him to tell me that he is going to protect me, he is going to take care of me, and that he loves me. I only made it through certain parts of my life by having a man to hold me. I would have killed myself without a man holding me. Now my wife's love sustains me, it keeps me alive, but there is something missing. There is something called Ensure, a liquid nourishment that nursing homes use to feed people that are unable to eat solid foods. It will keep you alive, but that is about it. Most people want to have steak, and potatoes, and chocolate cake in order to actually enjoy life. You see my wife is the Ensure, and men are the chocolate cake. If there was no chocolate cake, life would really not be that enjoyable.
