Your Griandiose Biploar Plans

Hi all, Ever since I can recall, I have had grandiose plans. I've also had many bouts of depression. I'm wondering if I have Bipolar. I cannot accept life without a BIG SCHEME in place. I'd love to hear some of your grandiose plans. Some of mine are:

1. sail the world in a yacht
2. write a bestselling book/screenplay
3. start an international business selling kickboards
4. build an international health business teaching meditation.
5. once I invested $30K into a shipping business that claimed a 25% return every quarter..it turned out to be a scam and I lost the 30K
6. Tried numerous internet scams hoping to get rich

There have been many more schemes....

My psych says I dont have bipolar but this constant need for a big plan that will change the world is driving me nuts! Can anyone relate to this? Thanks...

Hi there, this doesn't really sound like Bipolar to me. Just seems as though you are a really ambitious person.

For instance, my grandiose manic/psychotic plans include becoming God/Christ and saving the world, literally. REading minds, etc..

It's happened during psychotic breaks.

So what diagnosis does your doctor offer if it's not BP? I've had many grandiose plans while experiencing psychotic mania and I am diagnosed BPI. I think the psychosis can also be present in schizoaffective or schizophrenia. I've never experienced psychosis in depression but it's possible. You can do what I did to balance out my life and let the grandiosity go.

My Grandiose plans were....

1. Being the ext Bill Gates.
2. Being the next Ian Curtis. (of Joy Division, in case any of youse don't know)
3. Appearing on 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?'
4. The Internet scams. (I was sucked into them far too easily)
5. Starting a Web Design company with no know how whatsoever, simply attending the 'Go for it' Business Start-up program in Northern Ireland.
6. Emigrating to Canada and becoming a Journalist.

That's what I attempted.
