Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hypomanic is my best time. Clarity and rationality return to base. I've been doing through the stress of husband saying he can no longer deal with me and my emotional "stuff", after 27 years. My brain is already on the rollar coaster. Now he added the tilta-whirl, to the mix. Says maybe if I can improve myself better, he'll think about continuing the marriage. But then says later, oh and I'm not in love with you anymore. New year's eve, in heated argument, says he wants a divorce, but then later takes it back, again saying that if I can keep my emotions from being so unstable, he'll consider staying. At the time; me, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-worth, and self-respect were really not getting along. They had been being picked at for over 10years. Then after shoulder and brain surgery 3, 3-1/2 years ago, my sensory system went whaco. My emotions and senses were put in amplified mode. I think I had the right to be a bit "unstable". Anyway, having bipolar2, in addition to ADD, has been extremely more challenging than before. Depression is a low constant, but the Depressive bp2 episodes have me down for a week or so at a time. Absolutely nothing, gets done. Right down to frozen dinners or delivery. I love when my hypomanic comes on, cuz, Even though life has been really sucking, I can deal with it better, and things start getting done. Of course I have to be careful of trying to do to many things at the same time. Else some will sit undone, till the next hypo, or I'll have to make allowances as to why I didn't do what I said I was going to do. Hypo's just coming on, so I'm in a good mood, but still not up for more than just this. I'm in babble on endlessly mode too. Checking this site out. I don't have anyone around me that understands bipolar2. Most people think I should be able to "practice" not having stuck or depressive episodes. And that I should know better how to gather my thoughts together, so when speaking, my words don't come out to harsh, jibberish, rabbling, or basically any unapproved way of speaking. I should have complete control all the time. But that's not something a person with bp2 can do. And they need to know that. I stopped talking to family members that weren't willing to accept my diagnosis of bp2. They can accept the ADD, though. :p on them. I hope this will work out for me.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

You might need to get some communication with people who can connect with you well enough to allow you to feel safe as you work through this lot. Therapist if you can afford one to help with self-esteem, confidence, assertiveness maybe.
I'm sure some others will have good ideas.
Moobbust, yep know where I am, where to go or aim for is a bit tricky. Still working on how long the brain surgery side effects are going to last. Seriously messed me up. I don't quite feel like the same person. So many little things are off. See another neurologist next week. This effects my ability to be able to get a job. "No brain, no job" :) I have been seeing a therapist, and after 6 months and a lot of hard work, I'm happy to say that for the most part now I can actually say I like myself again. confidence and respect on their way. Hard part is that hubby decides to pull this crap now. And I have no idea how I'm supposed to deal with all the fall out. Support groups I'm finding helpful here. Thanks
Do you think that perhaps you need a med tweak?
Do you have any other tools you use to help with stability?...
A marriage breaking up is such a huge change especially after 27 years.....Perhaps a RL support group might be of help to you
I'm glad that you're here..... xo
Beckyp@ you too 27 years? Kinda sucks huh? And you maybe right about his not sure about my new found confidence. But to bad, I'm keeping it. :)
Suncloud@ yes psych, and therapist too. I have way more up there than I can handle on my own. Great hypo analogy: "The sweater you'll have to return" You get this great awesome sweater. Perfect fit, color looks good on you, it's soft and comfy; but soon it starts to not feel like "you" anymore, and you have to return it. :( I thought that was a good way to put it. :)
Just tweaked last month. I hate that the med dosage can never stay the same. At least I can work with my psych, so now changes can be done in small increments or just changing the time I take it.
And yep! Lots of tools! But I have ADD, and executive dysfunction also, So I keep losing them. :) Plus the stress of all that's happened to me over the last 3-1/2 years, makes it hard to remember them. Now I have "tools" for anxiety and stress also. They're all over the place too. :) sometimes it's amazing I can function as well as I do. Thank God for these hypo times! Wish they'd come more often, or stay longer. 4-5 days is never enough. :( But I do have a tendency to over do it. Like today; my girlfriend came over to help with a couple of garden projects. I need to remember, I'm not wonder woman! I did to much, over worked my shoulder and arm to the point I couldn't even shovel mulch. Arm was useless for about a half hour, This also means, won't be finishing the project tomorrow. I should know better, but I just get on such a roll. Know what I mean? It's fun till it's not fun. Oh, what's an RL group?
Irishwriter@ Thanks, keeping my fingers crossed.
Kisses2016@ I'm oh to familiar with "the crash". :p. It sucks. Happy, happy happy, crash, and hopefully no burn.
You know, you'd think we would get use to this by now. Years of up, down, and all around. But no. It just can't seem to have any consistency. Nothing ever comes in any kind of order, or last for the same amount of time. Got to just love it when those, it ain't happen, stuck days show up just as your headed out on vacation.
I think I would love to give all this crap that we all have to go through to my husband. For at least 2-3 months. Just to let him see how "easy" it is to deal with. Grr. Thanks everyone for being here. :)
