I work inan environment that is highly toxic. I work with a coworker who is VERY VERY RUDE AND NEGATIVE. I was told in my review that SEVERAL of my coworkers have complained that i am creating a negative work environment and that i was going to be being cllosely watched and supposedly she is as well. This ccoworker goes to another department several times a day and i know she talks shit about me.
I am sooooo stressed i can't stand it. I wish i could get hit by a mac trck.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Are you in therapy or are you open to seeing a therapist?... This could help you with finding some positive answers that might make your work environment a lot happier for you
Big hug for you...x
I am sorry this is happening to you at work .
If, however, they are just dead set on getting rid of some people, you can at least try to not be one of them!!
I would ask for a meeting with the person who gave me my review.
I would have a pad of paper and a pen with me.
I would not say a single word about any other workers unless I had to and if I did, it would not be negative or critical. Or defensive.
I would ask the reviewer to tell me exactly how I am not doing as well as I should be and, most importantly, what steps can I take to improve in those areas.
And I would write all that crap down and then try to make the changes they are claiming I need to make.
Maybe tell the reviewer that you are going to work on those things and that you would like to have another meeting in about a month, to discuss your progress.
Did your reviewer actually tell you specifically that the other employee will also be watched?
That's rather poor form.
Perhaps they're trying to set you up against each other.
Telling you that several people have complained about you is bullshit, too.
Rather than wish you could get hit by a mac truck, why don't you with that THEY would all get run over!!!!!?
(Well, perhaps not.)
Just focus on your own performance rather than noticing that the other employee is going to other departments and talking shit about you.
Maybe that's a good thing (although not pleasant for you!)
If they ARE watching her, that might count against her!!
When things got nasty at my job, I started keeping a journal of all the crap that went on.
There were some instances where something 'bad' was going to happen (as far as my position went) and I calmly told them dates and times and occurrences that I had logged which worked in my favor.
Everybody had to watch their back at that place and it made for a lot of stress and misery.
I could feel a black weight descend upon me, every time I walked through the door to start my shift!!
And it was the same for many of the employees.
I know how horrible it can be when you hate your job (or what goes on when you're doing it -- the job itself, I liked.)
Good luck!!!
I hope things get better there for you!!!
(((((Hugs)))))
All you have to do to satisfy the requirements is to not talk other employees about that particular employee!!!
That's the kind of thing that pretty much goes without saying, anyway!!!
It only gives that employee cannon fodder!!
It sounds like you're doing about all you can to CYA!!
Maybe by the time another month has passed, you'll have a lot less to be stressed about!!
The boss won't have any reason to complain about your performance in the workplace and if that other employee keeps gossiping, then perhaps it will be HER who they get rid of.
I hope that's how it plays out for you!!!
Try to think of positive stuff to comment on as you go throughout your day!!
It might help you feel more positive about what is now a very negative environment!!
If not that, at least it will make you look more positive in the eyes of others!!
And perception is everything!!!
(((((Hugs)))))
i make it a point not ta talk bad bout anyone to anyone. if i feel someone is performing badly i document it too. i think the journal is great ta track u. im in hr & we have ta keep track very closely. ive got an office gal up front that doesnt do her job well @ all. i have ta email her ten times ta get her understand simple things. i keep copies of all them cause my boss wants to let her go. so. i guess what im tryin ta say is i know its hard ta be calm even when peeps are shi*s but @ least they told ya what ta improve on & u know how ta keep track of it & try ta keep track of u. wouldnt worry bout her. if she is doin stuff wrong they will see it. if ya spend too much time focusin on her its just frustratin ya more & ya cant focus on how u act or react. if that makes sense?
Hang in there!
Breathe.
Be happy.
I wish you the best.
Ty guys!! The other thing I was going to say is that my job requires minimal coworker contact. I don't even talk to anyone about anything ever!!!. I have been there for almost TWELVE YEARS and have NEVER gotten a bad review. This person is not happy unless she has someone to hate. Before they transferred her up to my dept and she liked me, she would come up to my desk and talk shit about everyone and everything. Now she hates ME. SHE goes downstairs and stands there talking to the people in that dept ten xs a day. I can only imagine what she is saying about me behind MY back. She is an evil, mean spirited, vindictive blotch. I am so upset by this and I am mad at myself for being upset because they don't pay me enough to be this upset. I will continue to document all interactions to cma. This coworker told me (when she liked me) that her boss in the old department told her that she creates a negative work environment....it is in HER FILE!!! And my file is spotless!!!! I just don't get this. I have to find some way to destress both at work and at home.
We'll.....I ended up having a conversation with the coworker that I thought was against me. Apparently we were both told the same thing. I told her that if we had any issues with each other it would be best to deal with them one on one. We agreed that everything was fine, it seems like we are being pitted against each other BY management so that the situation would escalate until one of us eventually did something to get FIRED...prolly cuz they think they would get out of having to pay for unemployment...I don't know about you but can anyone say "BULLSHIT"!?!?! we aren't creating a negative work environment....THE MANAGEMENT IS!!!!! anyone else have any thoughts??
Jim .what do you feel is still negative? Can you please elaborate so i can see this from all angles?
ok. bye. mg
