Hi guys,

I've had the same reaction twice already on two different atypical anti-psychotics: physical reaction of hot/chills, fatigue, followed by depression. It was tolerable after Geodon, and beyond brutal after Riperdal.

Did any of you experience depression as a withdrawal symptom after anti-psychotics?

I only just found out that Chlorpromazine is Thorazine in The States.
Also Haldol and Haloperidol.
They are considered old now but still get used.It was like drowning all the time and not dying.
I was depressed anyway during psychosis...it's hard to tell what was what.
It was a ' brutal' time as you said.

I had to quit Geodon suddenly and became ill. It felt like the flu- which I guess is why I was so shitty mood-wise. I'd talk to your pdoc about it... but beyond that it's all Greek for me.

um, when I'm off my abilfy...I have severe symptoms...um, dunno about w/drawals. Have taken every single antipsychotic out there-sometimes it's hard to distinguish what med is doing what.

Yes. Especially the risperadol. I have been addicted to pain pills in the past and the withdrawels are brutal too.

Got off risperadal recently and a bunch of other crap the docs had me on. Just lithium now. It was hell. Didn't know if I was coming or going. Shakes, dizzy, giddy all of it.It passes over time, took a few weeks.
