Will my memory return?

I have been on benzo's for several years now and I am also a big cannabis smoker. I have noticed latley that my memory is getting VERY bad. Do you think if I stop the cannabis and benzos my memory would improve or could it just be bipolar in general and all the other meds?

My experience would indicate that it's the pot that's the main cause of your memory loss. I've used lots of benzos, did a lot of toking and drinking too but when I quit the pot and alcohol things got much better. It'd be good to talk to your doc too,

Maybe and/or yes.

You won't know for sure unless you try and even then, only if things get better.

A word of advice ...... don't just quit your benzos cold turkey.
That sometimes goes VERY badly!!!
Best to wean off them really slowly!!

Ask your pharmacist if memory loss is a known side effect of any of your meds or interactions between them.

Bipolar Disorder made me 'stupid' and gave me terrible memory problems even before I was diagnosed and treated.

And I'm guessing the meds aren't helping either, when it comes to that department.
