Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have just started exploring this line of thinking: "if I don't do it today, it will still be there tomorrow, and the next day, and the next, and LIFE DOESN'T MOVE ON." "If I do it, yes, there is always more work to follow, but some of it may not be pointless. Maybe somewhere along the road we get something important accomplished."
I have not been able to wash dishes since I was 12 years old. It seems to be some kind of phobia, I do not know. It is too overwhelming. I still do not know how to explain this to him. He thinks I am just lazy but I am not. I want my house to be clean, but If I cant get it just perfect then I will not do it at all. Any housewifes out there that can relate.... Please help.
Part of the illness is that we "feel easily overwhelmed". So sometimes I tell myself that it is the illness and not me. And, to do what I can. But then I am mad that I have the illness and am struggling to accept it so I don't waste so much energy fighting it. By the time I have just thought about a major task, I'm exhausted and dizzy! Agh! I write things down and it makes me feel better. But then I get fussed at because there are so many pieces of paper and notes flying and lying around.
Somebody write something kind to me. I'm having a bad day. If you have found anything at all helpful please tell me.
If you are referring to having to pick up other people's or your kid's things, forget that. It's not your responsibility!!
If you're referring to having difficulty picking up your own stuff, try to at least keep shared spaces clean before your own. It will show you care about others, regardless of how you feel.
