I think my p doc has given up on prescribing new meds to me. I really think I need a mood stabilizer. I explained to him I am having mood swings that come in waves. Two days ago I was hypomanic, last night my anxiety was awful and today I'm crying and can't get off my couch.
He's tried me on trileptal, lamictal and depakote. I liked the depakote but it made me extremely tired and he said he didn't want me to be on anything that would make me feel that exhausted.
I almost think he doesn't want to try me on anythung else because of my P.O.T.S diagnosis. Maybe I should get a second opinion. He diagnosed me bi polar 2 with primary insomnia.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I'm BP2 and mood stabilizers (Lithium) saved my life.
Maybe you should get a 2nd opinion OR get a new pdoc?
My p doc has also tried me on seroquel and saphris. I've been on lamictal in the past. It was about 15 years ago when I was diagnosed with a mood disorder. It helped at the time but when I tried it a few months ago I had bad side effects from it.
could be the diagnosis is wrong or there is something else - my guess is that when someone gets assessed first time round the focus is on the obvious but there may be other stuff behind it.
the pdoc might prefer it that way anyway
