Meds work different on everyone, amazing what some can take and some can't! My heart goes out for manic with side effect! Oy veh... its all trial and error, it takes a long time to go through them and we learn what NOT to take sometimes more than we learn what works!

Riddlin made me psychotic and see things :-) But I loved it

Using the anti-depressant effexor drove me into mania. But my first mania wasn't caused by meds, in fact I was drinking alcohol a bit. I think our moods will do whatever they want, whenever they want.

I had mania not caused by meds a yr ago and I was reckless. Ny family was worried about me. The mania caused by the geodon made me feel euphoric and I hardly slept for three days.

I am on effexor now and it works great on my depression. I tried Vibryyd once and that medication along with wellbutrin made me manic within a week. It takes a while to find the right cocktail but it is worth all of the trial and error once you do!! Good luck!!

Different meds for different people. Geodon took away my mania.

My first full mania was in reaction to St Johns Wort, a natural antidepressant. Even now, I can't handle any of the antidepressants I've tried--even with a mood stabilizer--because they make me manic. For me, and many others, it's because antidepressants elevate the mood--except for us, it elevates it too much!

Alcohol doesn't make me fully manic, but it does make me ridiculously euphoric and probably hypomanic-y while I'm experiencing its effects. I've had to say "no" to all alcohol just because I want to turn to it as an easy fix whenever I'm not doing well and I want to feel crazy good about the world.

naturally hyper/run on the manic side, too many antidepressants ** usually make me manic...

depressed right now, but thats usually the case. Lamictal makes me batshit manic

the antibiotic biaxin shoots me right up I had fun family was ready to put me out lol. (I'm a happy manic till near the end then I rage)

of course cant take steroids unless I really really need them for my lungs. they medicate my butt though in that case with Seroquel usually. (party poopers)

Geodon made me manic. Wore wigs, makeup, really talkative to everyone, even people out in public I didnt know, talked a lot. Off Geodon now and on lowest doese 500 mg of Depakote and feel normal.

@sugaboog that is exactly how iwas when i was manic from the geodon! I love to talk anyways but I could not shutup! lol I am so glad that am now stable since adding saphris to my cocktail.

I am going through a TERRIBLE manic phase right now. I haven't slept for days. I spend all night cleaning everything in sight. I'm euphoric, agitated, and not tired at all. What happened was my pdoc gave me a transdermal patch for depression. I went manic and I'm having the worst manic phase I've ever had
