My sister has bunnies and they are BEAUTIFUL! She has about 12. They harness the fur, clean it, comb it and roll it for use in knitting. The bunnies have their own little habitat outside (10'x12'x4') and were fine throughout the winter. They have water warmers to keep the water from freezing. And they all have really interesting names - all after the Norwegian gods and goddesses. They don't bite (I love holding them), they're SO soft and fluffy, and need to be tended to almost daily. They're wonderful animals! Have you ever had bunnies before?

Never but I've always wanted one. Blame it on the Peter Cottontail story mum used to read me. Lol. I'm trying to find all the stuff I'll need before getting the bunny. Cage, feeding tray, water bottle, pellets and I've read up on what/what not to feed it.

13 Years ago my Brother had a pet rabbit that was simply christened Bunny. She only lasted a year as she wasn't properly looked after. :(

My only recommendation is to hold off on a new pet until you know you can handle & afford the care along with the new baby. It has the potential to be overwhelming and stressful.

I won't really be around the baby til next year. I was actually thinking about that too cos I've come to learn bunnies are needy little fuzzies. My bff thinks I'm trying to replace the baby in advanced. Maybe I'll just get a cat or a puppy. Less demanding.

Cats are less demanding. Puppies are like having a baby!!

I have a dwarf rabbit, cute little guy with blue eyes and white fur. They do make nice pets and like to cuddle. I'll give you a good tip - we have our rabbit living inside and if you do use pee pads for dogs under a grated cage so he can't chew it and it makes for easy clean up every day because you roll it up and throw it away. The bedding sits there and it smells. We let him play outside in a secured area so he gets fresh air. I don't find him to be very needy. If your thinking of getting a dog they are way more needy than a rabbit! We've had him for 4 years.

No I don't travel with him. If I go on vacation somewhere I leave him with my motherin law. You can take him with you in a carrier though.

I had a Dutch FLop Eared bunny...litter box trained !
He loved to play with a big beach ball I got him.

He followed me around like a puppy.

The only problem I had, was he liked to chew on the base boards and electric wires.

I bought a block of cedar wood for him, and that helped

He lived indoors all years . I had a crate and would crate him at night, or if I was going to be gone from the house for a long time ...when I told him it was Time To Go To Bed, he went right to his crate

That's so cute! I did read that they love to chew stuff so I'm gonna have to have a little area that's object free.
