I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

If it is I'd suggest you do this via your journal and restrict it to your friends.
Otherwise I can see this going south very quickly.
If it's not - perhaps you can say some more because to give advice I think we would need to know more
I'm not sure if this person lives in your home? You do have to take care of your son first always and keep yourself in as good as a place as you can be. ( I know you know that - I'm just reaffirming that )
I have found that even with myself. I have to want to change things. Whether it be how I handle the BP or any other aspects of my life. Only I can make things as good or as bad as it can be.
Being supportive of anyone with or without MI is wonderful but not at the risk of your own stability. That expression- You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, is really a truth in life.
Noone wants to let someone struggle but protecting yourself emotionally is just as importatnt as trying to be supportive.
I won't pretend to know all of what you are going through or what the dynamics are but staying as calm as possible when being stressed and yet firm when you feel you aren't being taken seriouslly is important. Try not to absorb their every emotion as your own. Detatch if you will as best you can to keep from feeling overwhelmed.
MI is horrible as we all know but we have to at some point take responsibilty for ourselves without taking emotional casualties.
I love my family and I fight every day to keep myself in check. Some days I fall on my face but I face it with honesty and move on.
Follow your heart and trust your feelings - the real answers are within. Best to you tats and I do hope things turn around and improve.
I thought that, right away, when I started reading your post, but figured it probably wasn't an option that you want to consider.
But then I got to the part about your son. When it starts to take time away from your son, maybe it's time to do what you should, rather than what you want.
If everything else has been tried -- coaxing, begging, pleading, bargaining, arguing, ordering, threatening, etc., etc., etc., and it's pretty clear nothing you say is going to work, then there's not much you can do but cut you and your child off from them until they get better and/or seek help.
It might just be that once they realize they are losing something from their life that they don't want to lose, they will be more amenable to getting help.
If they still continue down the path they have chosen so far, sad to say, but it probably is more proof that separating from them was the right thing to do.
I'm kind of a hard ass when children are being shorted because adults are too wrapped up in their own problems to put the child's needs first.
Good luck!!!
You need this stress like a hole in the head!!!
I hope it resolves happily for all concerned!!!!
(((((Hugs)))))
I'm sorry this is hurting you but if you keep trying to no avail, you need to take care of YOU!
((((hugs))))
Do the Next RIGHT thing (((((BIG HUG))))) putting your son first, and you second - that should be your priority in life -whether in relationships, or jobs, or friends - You and your son are you largest responsibility (whether you want to or not)
If it feels HARD more than likely its the RIGHT thing - if your tired, sick and its the easier thing to do - is the WRONG thing...
I use this with EVERYONE - friends and family... Happiness is the Journey, not a destination.......
So sorry to see you go through this
love you
hugs
