Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between bipolar disorder and schitzoaffective disorder? I heard they are similar.

Schizo affectives have psychosis apart from mood changes... that's the only difference I know of

Although, I know many bipolar people ( myself included) , that have had hallucinations , delusions with mania , and yet are NOT DXed as schizoaffective

DD, I have those symptoms with bp1- but only in a mood congruent episode. Schizoaffective disorder- the psychosis persists beyond mood episodes.
