I had cancer five years ago....many painful surgeries and recoveries. I was just given my final follow up cat scan. It came back completely cancer free!!! I am having a hard time understanding why I am disappointed that it hasnt come back?? I know I should be 'happy', but I wish it would come back so I could just die and be free.

can you reach out to a new group you hadn't thought of, or tell someone close to you.
honesty can be the best thing, sometimes. even when you thought it wouldn't be.
My sister is bipolar and is at the hospital, today actually, getting radiation for her cancer... she struggles with it too, but we had a father who committed suicide when we were kids and she doesn't want my nephew to suffer from the loss of a parent.
Do you have children, or a family?
Hugs to you, I think it's wonderful you've beaten cancer! You have a strong will :)
I'm so sorry your family is unsupportive. Do you have any pets? If not, would you ever consider it?
Who knows why but it seems that human nature is to fear change, and being cancer free is a change for you.
But I will say this, death or no death, cancer is often a very painful and unpleasant way to go. It can also be very slow as well. I wouldn't wish it on any one so don't wish it on your self.
Maybe it's time to make other changes as well in life. You realize you are disappointed and that is fine because that was your true feeling but now it's time to decide what you will do next. You have some time to think about that now. Who knows what the future will bring. Perhaps you are meant to follow your dream now. You've been given a second chance don't wast it. Not every one gets one.
Even if you don't feel grateful now you still have an opportunity to change your mind later.
but that's just my advice. Take it for what it's worth...

do something different. try something new.
enjoy life because you are here,
and this is all there is.
