Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

We (wife and two girls) moved here in 2015 sort of randomly because we just needed to move somewhere more affordable and her folks were already retired here. I was on antidepressants at the time, wouldn't be properly diagnosed bipolar until 2017 down here and things had gotten pretty bad the last few years there.. I felt like my mind was melting down up there. It was sucking the life out of me and literally driving me insane.
We're in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and it's a beautiful place with beautiful views everywhere. The realtors used to say "every pig trail has a view." The Smokies are something else. That fog has a spirit or something. I don't know why, but I really feel home here like I've lived here for a hundred years.
I had a pretty unstable childhood and moved 7 times by the age of 10. NoVA was never what I would call home to me. It took less than a year here and I felt totally at home. And I can't tell you how happy I am that my girls get to grow up here, Makes me cry just thinking about it. I always tell them about me moving so much as a kid and I promise them, guarantee them, they won't have to do that. We're home now. And we ain't leaving.

But everyone's sentiments and descriptions are beautiful. I hope I can find somewhere that feels like home again soon.
Home is where I have space to plant as many gardens as I want, be able to walk a track through the woods when the weather is nice, hang out in the corral with the horses when I want to chill and relax....because horses are the best anti-anxiety/de-stress therapy there is. Home is where I can literally not have to see a single human being for days to weeks if I want to, or I can go down to the Plant/Produce Market a quarter mile up the road and hang out, drink a soda and visit.
Home is where my 32 year old son still has a key and shows up in the middle of the night and I find him asleep in the guest bedroom every now and again or where he pops up when he wants "real food" from mom.
