This past week I have not slept well bc soo much has been on my mind. My mind is flooded with thoughts about my issues.
I have also been extra sentive to high pitched noises, such as little kids and sometimes noises in general.
I get stressed out about little things like a change in my plans or something is said to me that is no big deal and I make it a big deal.
I have been on lithium since march and the level has been theraputic since the end of may. It has already been increased last month and i really do not want to take anymore. I would be at 1500 mg if it was increased again. I also take lexapro. Any advice is welcomed. What is going on?

my thought is always....anti-psychotic, i might be wrong tho, for me when it gets to be too much, usually a week into taking them i even out, blunted yes, but kinda like a vacay from my mind...

are lithium and lexapro the only meds you take?

I'm not on my meds anymore but I do understand the hyper sensitive thing.. it has a whole list of symptoms all its own.

Even on lithium. It didn't go away completely my Xanax helped a bunch.. ask doc if there's anything to help.

lexapro on it's own irritated me all the way into psychosis and full on mania

hmmm, have had sensitivity to noise before..when unwell. Not sure what your best move would be- sympathy tho'

Yes lithium and lexapro is all I take. Justletmebe. I heard anti psychotics have bad side effects. I go next month to my pdoc.

@ nala123 I took lexapro for a few months before I even started the lithium. I know it really did not help with the depression.

Anytime I have been hypersensitive to noise, TV, people talking, anything, it has always been the beginnings of hypomania. The pdoc puts me back on an anti-psychotic and it tends to go away. I hope you find something that works. Good luck!!

I was on lithium for a long time.

Not sure if this or true or not but some pdoc told me that, the lithium is one reason that I have had so much trouble with my hair and my teeth.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is true. I was in on the zyprexa settlement last year because they didn't tell me about the possible side-effect of the diabetes. Which I got both. The diabetes and a small settlement.

I loved Lithium, but had to be taken off because of my thyroid, now I am not sure if it was the Lithium or the Depakote that messed my teeth up, but either way they can't be messed up anymore because now I take them out at night and put them back in every morning..(he he).

But seriously...when this happens to me, like has been said, is a big sign of the hypomania. I would get in contact with my pdoc and get in soon as you can.
