Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Patience and time to do it to do it right!!! as the song goes
I understand your fear about being sectioned. It is very hard to get well if you're also afraid.
One of the things you *could* do that may help you out is talk to your Pdoc about the 'up' times in your illness. Most of us only talk about the 'down' part because the 'up' part is so much more productive! (right before it all goes to hell...)
I say this because the meds they offer for 'ups', like Abilify, Risperdal, Seroquel, and Zyprexa, can also quell those voices.
Sometimes, when I feel more secure in how I am feeling (when my meds are *helping*) I can then talk to my Pdoc in a way that he will talk reasonably to ME, too (no threats of sectioning).
I hope this helps.
