Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Most Pdoc's are booked months in advance.
I drive about 50 miles to get to my Pdoc and he is totally worth the drive !
As far as your Co-pay of 80 $...I'm on Medicare , SSDI , and my Co-pay is almost that much.
Being with a Pdoc that you have no confidence in , is bad !
If this new Pdoc is someone you feel comfortable with, I say give it a try !
Good luck
Do you have any resources for people without incomes high enough to pay for regular doctor services? You could always contact a local hotline to see if there is a quicker way to get in?
Good luck! Sorry the wait is so long!
I go with my gut. I will usually get a feel out of the call for appointment. If no bells go off I meet with the doc but if I don't feel comfortable I won't go back. If I'm somewhat ok I give it a few appointments to decide
. My nightmare experience was -One time I saw a new tdoc that my new pdoc rec. and the minute I met her I should not have gone back. Something wasn't sitting right with me. I didn't go with my gut!
At some point during a session I was besides myself over my flashbacks a self-loathing from my abuse and asked why someone would do that to a 4 year old? She said " You want to know why? You must have done something pretty shitty in your previous life. That's why" I was in shock.
I just sat there and didn't know whether to punch her in her face or go kill myself! I mean really? I went to my car and sobbed then I began laughing at the absurdity of my life and was bitching out loud that good thing I wasn't feeling suicidal.... nasty biach. I never liked women docs anyway.
If course I never went back and when I called all my support team members about it they said I should report her. I just couldn't deal with it so I was just done with the therapy route all together.
So - go with your gut and trust yourself - we have to advocate for ourselves because nobody else will. Good Luck with getting through the picking a new doc process.
