Wow. I just got to say I don't fit in the corporate mold.
I'm so upset and depressed that I have again been given a really bad low performer review.
I don't understand because I do great work, I write systems programs that are seriously good. I write technical papers and processes and procedures on how to do all kinds of things. I support our customers and my team with how to's, technical information, programming examples, JCL examples, and just general documnentation. Seems I don't get any credit for this as the grading scale is a simple objectives to performance. Well I tend to stray from the objectives because I see lots of stuff that needs doing. Back in the day I was praised and rewarded for my efforts in constant improvement of things. Now I'm being bashed for it because all that matters is the tick mark on the spreadsheet and if it was done by the date specified, even if it really didn't matter. I just don't fit in anymore. I'm supposed to be the basic stooge and get the task done by a certain date and that's all that matters. Sorry for rambling on but I'm reallly upset about this because I am a creative person with lots of ideas and that used to count for something, Long story short I don't know how long I will be able to keep myself employed. I'm really struggling to keep a float. I hate corporate america.

I decided my job was too stressful for my BiPolar and took a couple of months of disability to see if I'm more stable without my job. Guess what, no episodes since I've been away from my job. So, I've decided it's not the job for me, too much pressure.
