I guess you would call it new age - when my therapist uses a telescopic pointer to tell me what area of my body I should focus on to alleviate anxiety. Makes me follow the pointer in all directions with my eyes till I determine which eye position is most calming. I have learned that my left forearm and looking down and to the right will greatly benefit my mental health, lol. Strange, right?? Have you ever encountered this kind of stuff?
The bummer is that I really, really like the talk therapy and she's probably the therapist that has "gotten me" the most through the years. Very helpful advice. I've made true progress with her quickly.
But after a few sessions she started this bizarre stuff and it makes me totally weirded out. I hate leaving her cuz it is sooooo hard to find a good therapist.
I'm sure it's for some people but just not for me. Hard to weigh the benefits against the bizareness of it all.

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

It's your therapy session, not hers.
"how does that make you feel?"
Maybe you should ask her if that's what she is doing?
