Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
can you try again for another class? are there any online instructionals you can check out? maybe you can learn online and stay home..
At least you got as far as you did. You put the work in to try to get out the door and you found something that interested you enough that you "wanted" to get out the door.
Now isn't the time to give up. Now is the time to try again. Each time you try, you will become a little bit stronger and once you do get out the door you will be encouraged to do even more.
Sometimes it helps me to have a friend go along with me to things that make me anxious. Sunday, I asked my 20 y/o to go to the grocery with me so I would not feel so anxious. It did help.
Sometimes even though we are thinking good things and doing the mental work, we still freeze up. We have those unconscious thoughts that tell us "people will be looking", "I won't be able to do it", "what if". It takes time and work and constant trying to get there but when we do, it feels sooooooo good. Don't let this be the end, but the beginning. It was a practice run toward the time you will succeed to get out the door and be around people again.
Hang in there Tats, you are a beautiful person, you ARE here for a reason, and you WILL succeed in steppting forward.....xo
I'm sorry, Tats.
I really do not think I am meant to be in this life.....I really do not.
Give yourself permission to be excused from sewing lessons today. Do something else - something relaxing. Or do nothing at all.
If you feel like it later, maybe you could look online for some sewing videos.
Be kind to my Tats friend - give her a break.
i completely understand how you feel, and all i can think to say is don't beat yourself up over a sewing class. it might be a wait, but there will be other sewing classes you'll be able to attend.
it really does happen to the best of us. please be gentle with yourself.
I got some much needed support from Will and he is going to drive down to the class with me, it's in an area that has alot of stores and neat shops so he's going to walk around and maybe grab a bite to eat while I go to class!!!!! I have to push myself outside my comfort zone here and do this......I just have too....cannot stand feeling so miserable about not going. The klonopin has helped too...I just took one and am feeling less anxious.
I remember being told how important it is to push outside that comfort zone that we all have......and though it's a huge push I think I will be ok!!!! Just talking alot to myself with positive affirmations and telling myself that this will be fun....not punishment!
Bless us all and pass the Klonopin.
Blech. There's so many things that I would like to do, but my anxiety holds me back!!!
I'm getting a little bit better, lately. I still don't go out for 'fun', but I'm feeling a bit more at ease with doing the things I HAVE to do!!
Good luck!!!! I hope you love it!!! You're being very brave and doing something really good for yourself, in more ways than one!!! (((((Hugs)))))
