Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
To give you an idea: I first took Zoloft for ~6 months, at 75mg, then went a week on 50mg, a week on 25mg, then off (per doctor's instructions). I had very severe symptoms (dizziness for a month, depression for mybe a little longer), and I gained 10lb in the first two weeks cause I mistook dizziness for hypoglycemia and I ate reflexively. The second time, I took it at 50mg for a month, and 25mg for two months, and I quit, and I only had dizziness for about a week. It was much easier to take.
I would say ask the doctor what to do, and then go at least twice as slow. Most pills can be crushed and dissolved in water if you need to dose fractions of a pill.
